"Bryan just wanted a piece of the cure": Jonkari P's Leon short
A Resident Evil short from the self-described "one VFX guy" has nearly matched the channel's whole day on its own, two days after going up.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 181,246 views a day, 52 times a normal day (3,517).
Bryan wants a piece of the cure, and it is not clear he is getting one. That is the premise of the newest short from Jonkari P, a Blender animator whose channel description reads, in full, "It's that one VFX guy."
Posted on October 3, "Bryan just wanted a piece of the cure" passed 175,000 views within two days. It accounts for almost all of the channel's traffic today, on a channel where a normal day brings in a few thousand views. Only one recent upload has gone further: a Chris and Wesker short from August that still leads the pack.
The titles read like a running gag about refusal. Leon "didn't want a drink either" in September, Majima from the Yakuza games is "NOT getting a single bite" in July, and Leon is warned off ChatGPT along the way. Leon S. Kennedy is the regular, joined by Chris and Wesker from the same series and by Kiryu and Majima from Yakuza 0.
This time the tags add a live-action name: Austin Abrams, the actor cast to lead Zach Cregger's Resident Evil film. Bryan and the cure sound like that world colliding with Leon's, served up in the channel's own deadpan style.
