Ron Swanson's life lessons, and a Daily Show he never hosted, on Parks and Recreation
Three uploads, two of them built around Nick Offerman's mustached department director, plus a 40-minute compilation that viewers are mining for one-liners.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Parks and Rec but Ron Has a Lesson for Everything | Parks and Recreation
Eleven hours old, and "Parks and Rec but Ron Has a Lesson for Everything | Parks and Recreation" was already picking up views faster than anything else on NBC's official channel for the show. Its tags point to Ron Swanson teaching self-defense, which is about as Ron as a lesson gets.
It was the second Ron cut of the week. "Ron Swanson deserves his own Daily Show" strings together three moments, from the Season 2 telethon through Season 5's "Emergency Response" to the Season 6 recall vote, and its tags nod to Nick Offerman's own appearances on The Daily Show.
The biggest upload was the longest. "40 MINUTES of Parks and Rec fun" passed 96,000 views in three days, and its comment section reads like a quote board. Andy's "I know what things are" keeps coming back, so does Ron's "I LOVE NOTHING," and several viewers are stuck on Adam Scott playing Ben drunk. One sharp-eyed viewer spotted a camera operator ducking out of frame a beat too late, and a handful are still trying to work out the word Andy and Ron say together.
The whole channel ran well above its usual daily pace, with about six million views in seven days, the fourth-largest haul among similar clip channels. That puts it alongside a big week for Suits Official, while Tina Kelch and 唐司令说电影 had even bigger ones. The subscriber count held still at 622,000, which is normal for a channel whose viewers mostly come for Pawnee and leave quoting it.
