Frankie Grande is getting ready to play Frank-N-Furter, and Roz Hernandez's horror quiz isn't going to interrupt the makeup. Joined by actor Josh Andrés Rivera and Broadway strategist and producer Katharine Quinn, he takes on the musical end of the scary-movie shelf in an older Tickled to Death episode.
Paramount Scares posted nothing new this week, leaving its archive to supply roughly 4,000 views. The musical game show is among the uploads picking up small amounts of daily viewing, alongside episodes devoted to Paranormal Activity and The Exorcist. This is modest activity, not an archive revival: daily views are running at less than half the channel's usual level, and subscribers slipped slightly over the week.
The musical episode offers more than recall questions about Rocky Horror, Little Shop of Horrors and Sweeney Todd. Grande remembers Little Shop inspiring him as a child, then pitches Gremlins as an Avenue Q-style puppet musical. Rivera imagines A Nightmare on Elm Street as ballet. Later, Hernandez asks which horror villain would deliver the best tap number, prompting suggestions of Nosferatu, Annie Wilkes and the Xenomorph. Some casting directors have easier assignments.
Among nearby television channels, Foxtel and CBC had much busier viewing weeks, while E4 also posted nothing new. Paramount Scares' quieter corner belongs to a host asking theater people to give movie monsters a stage career.
