Habeas Corpse-us: Roz Hernandez puts Samara's defense on trial in Tickled to Death

Betsy Sodaro and Samantha Hale argue the cursed girl's case in the show's episode on The Ring, while the channel takes a week off from new uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Nothing new went up on Paramount Scares, so the studio's horror channel ran on its game show. Tickled to Death, hosted by Roz Hernandez, turns a Paramount scare into trivia and comedy, and the episode on The Ring is the one still finding viewers.

It is easy to see why. Betsy Sodaro and Samantha Hale have to guess which creepy images really appear on the cursed tape. They argue over whether Rachel, Naomi Watts' reporter in Gore Verbinski's 2002 film, is the true villain. Then comes Habeas Corpse-us, a round in which they serve as Samara's defense attorneys. There is also a chapter titled Justice for the Horses, which anyone who remembers the ferry scene will understand.

Two older episodes keep it company. In one, Ross Bryant of Dropout's Push the Roll and Stuart Ross of Another Gay Horror Podcast play a round on Paranormal Activity, the found-footage film made for about $15,000, and pitch reality TV confessionals from the demon's side. In the other, Bryant returns with Zach Noe Towers and Vanessa Gonzalez to stay silent through A Quiet Place and pitch spinoffs.

The channel's daily views held a touch above their usual level, a few hundred a day. Among the TV networks and streaming services close to it in size, Foxtel and Law & Order had the busy weeks, and Paramount Scares was among the quietest, which is unsurprising for a channel with no new uploads.
