A car stuck on a pool cover, and the cover held, in Fox Nation's 'Rescue Nation' short
Officers had to get the driver to safety before it gave way, but most viewers want to know who made the cover.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 43,735 views a day, 26 times a normal first day on this channel (1,713).
Watch 'Rescue Nation' on Fox Nation
A car ended up resting on top of a backyard pool cover, the driver still inside, and the cover held. The short Fox Nation posted to promote 'Rescue Nation' follows the officers who had to get her off it and onto solid ground before it gave way.
Twelve hours after going up, it had been watched close to 30,000 times. A new short from the streaming service usually ends its first day under 2,000. It also left the other clip posted the same day far behind: the trailer for the new season of 'Stories of the American Mafia'.
The comment section moved even faster than the views. A Fox Nation short normally gathers a handful of comments in its first day. This one passed 130 in half a day, and the subject is overwhelmingly the cover. Viewers call it the strongest on earth, wonder which company made it and suggest the manufacturer could hardly ask for a better advertisement. One commenter decides it could double as a trampoline. Others single out the officer for how he handled the rescue.
The channel was already having a lively stretch. As we reported here, a CrimeCam 24/7 clip built around the words "Where are my fries?" carried it last week. This time a short police rescue, and one unusually sturdy piece of backyard equipment, is doing that work.
