A toothbrush is enough to explain the security problem. In Channel 5's Broadmoor documentary, Professor Pamela Taylor warns: "Even a toothbrush can be sharpened and made into a weapon."
"Inside Britain's Deadliest Hospital | Broadmoor: Serial Killers & High Security" explores the high-security psychiatric hospital through archive material, correspondence and testimony from clinicians and former visitors. Consultant forensic psychiatrist Dr Sohom Das sets out the distinction at its centre: "Our job is not to dwell on what they've done in the past, it's only to rehabilitate them for the future."
The documentary reached roughly 224,000 views, making it the week's most-watched new upload. It also carries the strongest daily momentum on the channel, with the tracker-led Police Interceptors episode and Police Night Shift 999's account of Gloucestershire racegoers close behind. Viewers' discussion of Broadmoor centres on visiting rights, rehabilitation and how hospital life differs from prison.
Police programmes occupied much of the busiest end of the schedule, but Dan Snow offered a different route through enclosed passageways. His Egypt episode takes in the Great Pyramid's tunnels, Cairo's markets and a taste of koshari, giving the fifteen-upload week a historical detour.
Channel 5 added around 2,000 subscribers over the week. Its weekly viewing was modest beside nearby television channels: Channel 4 and BBC Archive had substantially busier weeks, while ITV and E4 recorded no subscriber gains. For Channel 5, the most active viewing remained concentrated on Broadmoor and the practical work of policing.
