"Second Kyiv bridge hit in two days as Russia targets Dnipro crossings" is a short euronews report on a city cut in half by its river. Kyiv's two halves are joined by eight crossings over the Dnipro. According to the report, jet-powered drones forced the Southern Bridge to close, and a day later traffic on the Northern Bridge was blocked as well. That leaves two of the eight disrupted.
The Southern and Northern bridges are among the city's main road links between the historic right bank and the residential districts on the left, so the story is about more than two structures. It is about how people in a capital of millions get across town.
The channel posted the report twice under the same title, and both versions ran far past its usual start. Each gathered more than 33,000 views within about seventeen hours. A new euronews video usually ends its first day with fewer than 2,000.
The rest of Saturday's coverage gives a sense of scale. The FlyDubai cockpit attack report drew about 14,000 views. Exit polls from Latvia's parliamentary election, its 11th since independence in 1991, reached around 8,000 on their busier version, and the Pride march through Paris, led by Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire, stayed in the hundreds.
Kyiv has led the channel before. Last week a strike on the city's Academy of Sciences headed a busy run of uploads, as we reported here, and now the Dnipro crossings have done the same.
