Alexa, a pitbull and a marathon: Jeff Arcuri's crowd work fills a pause
No new clips went up, and a four-month-old exchange titled simply "Alexa" has passed three million views.

Jeff Arcuri posted nothing new over the past seven days, and his channel did what a crowd-work catalog tends to do: it kept playing the old conversations.
The one doing the most is "Alexa," a short from about four months ago that has now passed three million views and is still the clip people reach for first. Its title, like most of Arcuri's, is a single word, which is half the fun: you press play to find out what Alexa has to do with whoever was sitting in the front row. Behind it come "Pitbull," barely a month old, and "Marathon," which, at five months, is past two million and still being found.
Arcuri built his following on exactly this, unscripted back-and-forth with the audience at his shows, trimmed into short clips. Without fresh uploads the channel ran slower than usual, though it still added well over a million views over the week, and subscribers inched up by about a thousand to 443,000.
Among stand-up channels near his size, the week belonged elsewhere. Mario Adrion and Denny love both had big weeks, and Hot Water Comedy Club and Slice Comedy ran quieter than usual, much as Arcuri did. In a stretch with nothing new, a one-word clip about a smart speaker is still the joke people are finding.
