Conan O'Brien's podcast talk runs two hundred times past Bloomberg Live's usual first day
Five sessions from Bloomberg Screentime 2026 went up together, and the Team Coco founder's conversation with Ashley Carman drew far more viewers than the studio chiefs and investors beside it.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 75,532 views a day, 234 times a normal first day on this channel (323).
Conan O'Brien on Podcast Empire and Reaching Audiences
Conan carried the day. Bloomberg Live, the arm of Bloomberg that stages and films business conferences, posted several sessions from its Screentime 2026 gathering in Los Angeles at once. The one with Conan O'Brien reached close to 75,000 views in its first 23 hours. A first day on this channel usually means a few hundred.
The contrast with the rest of the program is sharp. NBCUniversal's Donna Langley on film and streaming, RedBird Capital's Gerry Cardinale on Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, and Suno's Mikey Shulman on AI music each stayed in the hundreds, and the afternoon livestream did not do much better. These are serious names in the business, but none of them spent nearly three decades on late-night television.
O'Brien did. He took over Late Night in 1993, hosted his own TBS show until 2021, and in 2018 started Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend, the podcast at the center of the Team Coco business. Here he sits with Ashley Carman, Bloomberg's podcast reporter, to talk about leaving television for audio, how a podcast finds and keeps its listeners, and what comes next for Team Coco.
The comment section, normally close to silent on this channel, filled with more than a hundred replies. Viewers single out the part about advertising, which one calls the most useful show-business lesson they have heard, and point to the moment a bidet ad comes up. Podcast listeners give a nod to producers Matt Gourley and Eduardo Perez and to Sona Movsesian and Jordan Schlansky, whose banter they count as the best part of the show. Several notice how he credits luck for his success, and one is amused that the title card introduces him simply as "Team Coco Founder," as if he were just another entrepreneur.

@SongofIceandTeaSee it on YouTubeThe best part about Conan’s podcast is that we get more interactions with Sona and with Jordan. That’s the funniest part of the whole show.

For a conference channel whose videos usually open quietly, this first day sits far outside the routine.
