Trash cans behind notched posts, and a solo remodel nearing ten million views
Andrew Thron's one new build hides the bins with slats that sit flush inside the posts, while his whole-house video creeps toward eight digits.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I Wish I Learned this Fence / Privacy Screen Building HACK Sooner! (Make any DIY Project Look PRO)
Andrew Thron really does not like seeing trash cans on a driveway. His one upload this week is a privacy screen built just to hide them. The trick he wishes he had learned sooner is in the posts: he cut a notch in each one, as deep and as wide as the horizontal boards, so the slats nest between the posts and finish perfectly flush. He admits in the description that it is not groundbreaking, and that it is a lot of work for a bin enclosure. At his last house he set the posts in the ground and toe-screwed 2x6 boards between them. This time the posts stand on Tuffblocks and the slats are thinner 1x6 boards.
The video passed 100,000 views on its first day. Its comment section soon turned into a friendly design review. The most liked questions ask why the screen has a floor at all instead of plain gravel, and why it has no doors when the neighbors get the full view. One viewer jokes about the ramp, apparently built for raccoons. Another plans a drinking game for every time he says the word Tuffblock.
The older catalog keeps working too. "What Happens When a Man Remodels an Entire House By Himself with Zero Female Input?" is close to ten million views. It is the story the about page tells: a fixer-upper bought with no construction experience and renovated without contractors. A post-setting guide from late summer that compares concrete, expansion foam and structural footings is still busy as well. Altogether the channel is drawing about a third more daily views than usual, and nearly a million views came in over the week.
Among DIY and home channels of similar size, the week belongs to Kate_cleanhome's cleaning shorts, with Eric Wang also busy. Andrew sits just behind them, and most of the others are near their usual pace.

A dado is a flat-bottomed channel cut across the grain, the same idea as housing a board inside a notch.
