Swords on the back: Xaryu's sheathing Short and Blizzard's new options
Fifteen uploads went up, and the World of Warcraft creator's clip on where a character can wear a weapon passed 368,000 views in about a day.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
NEW Sword Sheathing Options
"NEW Sword Sheathing Options" is a Short about a small change with a loyal following: World of Warcraft players will be able to choose where a sheathed weapon sits on their character. It is on Xaryu's channel, and in a little over a day it gathered close to 370,000 views, the most of anything he posted.
The comment section reads like a wish list. Protection warriors picture a one-handed sword on the back beside the shield, hunters ask for bows and quivers on show, and one viewer notes that a glitch once let players do something similar, so the option now feels like a long overdue official version. Several viewers also guess, with some amusement, that a few purists will object to a purely cosmetic choice, which is the point Xaryu himself seems to make.
It was a crowded week of news from Blizzard, and the channel followed it closely. "Blizzard Just REVEALED Druid, Lock and Priest Changes" covered class updates, "Blizzard is Listening" climbed fast in its first hours, and "You don't NEED Addons anymore" picked up the debate about built-in tools. Between them came "The Fastest Gnome Ever" and a long stream from a level 30 beta, with Xaryu hosting what the title bills as a $100k tournament.
The channel ran a little below its usual daily pace, yet it still added about 4,000 subscribers over the week, reaching 447,000. Among the strategy and role-playing channels of similar size, none gathered more views over those seven days, and most of the group, from TorvestaRS to Preach Gaming, ran well under their normal pace.

What viewers say
That’s actually really cool, it’s subtle but different and not so different it doesn’t feel like classic.

Hopefully they add an option so hunters can show their bow/gun/quiver on their back whilst sheathed!
