A bug horde conquers the world, and Hazzor's Songs of Syx run keeps marching
Fifteen days after it went up, the Songs of Syx video is closing in on 800,000 views, in a week with no new uploads.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
I Conquered the World with a BUG Horde in Songs of Syx
What do Hazzor's viewers watch when he takes a week off? Mostly bugs. "I Conquered the World with a BUG Horde in Songs of Syx" is fifteen days old and still the channel's busiest video by a wide margin, now nearing 800,000 views.
Songs of Syx is a fantasy city-builder with huge simulated battles, the kind of game where, as the description puts it, small events can spiral into the collapse of kingdoms. Hazzor calls it a weird masterpiece, then does what the title promises: raises an insect army and sends it rampaging across the map. Paganacho, his regular editor, cut it together.
Behind it, two older videos keep ticking over. "I Made a Vampire Cult in Rimworld" is more than four months old and still finds a few thousand viewers a day, with a cult serving a lord named Braccus against whatever the storyteller Randy throws at them. And "Maximising Shareholder Value By Dooming Humanity in Quasimorph" sends a corporate PMC and a cloning bay into the newly released 1.0 version of that game, where, by his own account, many clones die but the money comes in.
With nothing new posted, the channel ran well below its usual pace and added about a thousand subscribers. Most of the strategy and simulation channels near its size were quiet too, from TorvestaRS to Preach Gaming. The busy one was Xaryu, whose World of Warcraft Shorts are moving at a very different speed.
