Velvet, gnomes and a jewelcrafting joke: Crendor ranks WoW's paintings
The latest Pointless Top 10 led a three-video week that also brought Classic GeoGuessr and a ghost-hunting short.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Top 10 Paintings in WoW (Pointless Top 10)
Which paintings hang on the walls of Azeroth, and does anyone stop to look at them? Crendor does. His newest Pointless Top 10, "Top 10 Paintings in WoW," is exactly the kind of list his about page promises, and it is the most watched of his three uploads this week, past 37,000 views.
The comment section turned into an art history seminar. Several viewers tie the first painting to "Sockets are Forever," Blizzard's joke commercial from the Burning Crusade era that parodied the old diamond ads, and they note that it hangs right next to the jewelcrafting trainer. Others read a Tolkien love story into number ten, set the record straight on who the pair in American Gothic really are, and spot Archmage Antonidas in a wizard portrait. The most liked remark is a complaint that most of these paintings can't be hung as housing decor.
The newest upload is moving fastest: "Celebrating WoW Forever by Playing Classic WoW GeoGuessr" gathered close to 20,000 views in its first day, a fitting nod to the new version of the game now in beta. A short, "Ghost Adventures but It's WoW," brought back the machinima side of the channel, and an eight-day-old three-hour compilation of details you probably never noticed, chaptered from underwater oddities to NPCs carrying stuff, keeps drifting into bedtime queues.
The channel as a whole ran a bit above its usual daily pace. Among the role-playing channels around its size it is one of the calmer corners, while Xaryu's catalog draws more than a million views a day.

What viewers say
Most of these not being decor feels criminal.
@GrokNZSee it on YouTubeI bet #10 is a reference to Tolkien's Beren and Luthien tale: the love between a mortal man and an immortal elf princess. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw it.
@aj.gutierrezSee it on YouTubeneeed that first one as housing decor
