A perfect dap, Runescape creators and a scam that viewers know too well
Torvesta's newest upload asks fellow Runescape creators to land a flawless handshake, a week after his scam video drew a comment section of confessions.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Perfect Dap Challenge vs Runescape Creators
On an ordinary stretch, Torvesta's channel draws well over a hundred thousand views a day across his Old School Runescape catalog. Lately it has been running at less than half that, and the subscriber count sat still at 505,000.
Then came "Perfect Dap Challenge vs Runescape Creators," and eight hours after it went up it had already passed 26,000 views. The title promises a simple test, the flawless handshake, put to other people who make videos about the game, and it is gathering viewers faster than anything else on the channel right now.
The week's other upload, "Did you fall for this Runescape Scam?", went up on September 30 and has passed 56,000 views. Its comment section became a long trading of old wounds: the trimmed-armor trick, a fake promise that typed passwords show up as stars, lures into the Wilderness, money doubling. Several viewers did a double take at a familiar face from outside the game, asking whether a certain Austin really plays Runescape, and one viewer notes that Josh Strife finally has ceiling lights.
It follows a run of creator-centered videos. "I asked Creators how they Found Runescape," two weeks old, is still picking up a few thousand views a day, and the earlier "Have you been Scammed on Runescape?" has passed 216,000.
Among strategy and role-playing channels close to his size, Torvesta sits fifth by subscribers and seventh by views gained. MadSeasonShow had the busiest week of the nearby Runescape and WoW crowd, and Xaryu's audience dwarfs everyone's. For a player who started making videos in 2012, the scam stories still land.

I’ve never been scammed in my entire rs history. I mean yeah there’s people that want my armour every now and then but they said they’re going to make it the (G) version. I’m going to have so much money when all those people finally give me my armours back. Must be an insane process, been happening since 07.
