A million in sight for 'World of Warcraft Forever', and a surprise quest on episode 46
The Old School RuneScape ironman series played blind and without guides went back to work on Tuesday, a few days after the WoW first look.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
World of Warcraft Forever
How far has MadSeasonShow's return to Azeroth traveled? Close to a million views, six days after it went up. "World of Warcraft Forever" is an hour-long first look at the new version of the game, and it opened with more than half a million views on its first day. Viewers point out that it landed during the servers' downtime for the level 30 upgrade, which left plenty of players with time on their hands. Others traded notes on the "recent allies" system, which keeps you near people you have grouped with, and a good share of the comments are simply about his voice and the intro music.
The channel did not leave Gielinor behind. On Tuesday, episode 46 of his Old School RuneScape ironman run, played blind and without guides, went up as "I Got Tricked Into a Surprise Quest" and passed 30,000 views in five hours. It follows episode 45, a surprise boss fight that viewers are still finding.
That pairing gave the channel about 1.5 million views over seven days, the most among similar strategy and role-playing channels, and some 6,000 new subscribers. Among his neighbors, Rimmy Downunder is running above his usual pace, while TorvestaRS and Gbay99 are having a calmer stretch.
