Simon Frühwirth's one-take hotel flight carries Wonder World past five million

An FPV drone pilot who films hotels and resorts in a single continuous shot is behind the Australian channel's busiest video, on a week without new uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

"Hotel Tour - One Drone. One Take. No Mistakes." is the short doing nearly all the work on Wonder World right now. Scott's channel, which he describes as a collection of curious stories from around the world, picked up footage by Simon Frühwirth, an FPV drone pilot who, the description says, makes cinematic one-take videos for hotels, resorts and hospitality brands: one continuous flight through the lobby, the pool, the rooms and the scenery around them.

It went up 53 days ago and is now close to five million views, still gathering about half of everything the channel draws in a day. Nothing else comes near it. "Watching this Scratches an Itch", a timelapse of a concrete island being scrubbed clean, did its big run months ago and sits above 17 million, now ticking along quietly. So does a short from China's Yuncheng Salt Lake, where a viewing platform and highway seem to float over mirror-like flats.

No new videos went up over the seven days, and the channel barely noticed: views ran right about at their usual pace, with the subscriber count holding steady at 1.12 million.

Among the story and curiosity channels around its size, the loud weeks belonged to 5PM and Gravity Dreams, the latter running well above its own normal pace. Wonder World sat in the calmer middle, alongside Dr Bob, living off one drone that never had to land.
