Video taking off 34x its usual first day

'Instantly regretted it': a $100 bill on a car leads Gravity Dreams' million-subscriber day

The narrated short drew far more views than the channel's new uploads usually do, and its comment section has a side thread about a like button that turns into a spinning wheel.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 2,161,519 views a day, 34 times a normal first day on this channel (62,927).

He taped $100 to his car and INSTANTLY regretted it 😳He taped $100 to his car and INSTANTLY regretted it 😳

A million subscribers. Gravity Dreams crossed that line on the same day one of its new shorts took off faster than anything the channel usually posts. The channel narrates other people's clips under the banner of "the stories of extraordinary people."

That short is "He taped $100 to his car and INSTANTLY regretted it 😳". The footage is credited to an account called @apstexas, and Gravity Dreams wrote and voiced the narration. The description insists that everyone is safe and that a professional did it. The tags give away the gist: a money experiment gone wrong, and a $100 bill that does not stay where it was taped. Half a day after going up, the short had passed 1.4 million views. A new short here usually ends its whole first day in the tens of thousands.

The comments moved even faster. In half a day the short collected about seven times as many as a Gravity Dreams short usually gets in a full first day. Many viewers ask, in one form or another, what he expected to happen. A few suspect he pulled the bill off himself. One running thread has nothing to do with the money: people keep reporting that the like button turned into a spinning wheel.

It was not the channel's only good news. "Cowboy spurs are NOT what you think they are 🤠", posted in late September, also passed a million views, and the week added tens of thousands of subscribers. Around those two sits the usual Gravity Dreams mix: an escape from a Cybertruck with a dead battery, cats playing with snow in a bathtub, and a Brazilian street artist who paints trees as hair.
