Paul once voted for Donald Trump. After construction of the president's border wall left his home on the Mexico-facing side of the barrier, he says he is firmly against him.

France's TF1 INFO visits Paul and his partner Shirley in a remote part of Texas, reached after a two-hour drive along a dirt road through the desert. Paul points across his property and says construction crews arrived and began clearing the ground without his agreement. He describes the experience as someone turning up at your home with a bulldozer.

The report says this section of wall went up in four days. Its route was set back from the Rio Grande to avoid flood-prone ground, leaving Paul's land and trailer between the barrier and the river.

That distinction matters: the property is on the Mexican-facing side of the wall, not transferred into Mexican territory. The barrier's inland route, rather than a change to the international border, is what has isolated it.

The short report has drawn about 490,000 views since yesterday. It closes with Paul's political reversal: a former supporter confronting the effect of Trump's signature border promise on his own home.
