Shred Eighty's giant Honda has a cockpit beneath the handlebars
Gavin Carlson's two-upload week also sends an eighties Honda Odyssey to Utah, rebuilt for snow.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Should I buy it?
The handlebars are mostly for the illusion. Down below them, Shred Eighty's enormous red three-wheeler has a cockpit with a steering wheel, gauges and even an old CRT monitor. Gavin Carlson settles into the driver's seat and offers a suitably understated verdict: "I think we finally found it."
"Should I buy it?" was the most watched of his two new uploads, reaching roughly 466,000 views. Branded "Honda 2000s" and "CYCLOPS," the custom machine looks like an ATC scaled up far beyond sensible proportions, complete with a large exposed engine and supercharger intake. The comments split into two practical camps: buy the thing, or recruit some mechanically minded friends and build one. A few viewers recognize the steering wheel from cars they once owned.
The other upload, "Honda Snow Machine Testing! ", takes Carlson's eighties-Honda fixation somewhere colder. He says the team built a Honda Odyssey for snow before heading to Utah to film with other creators. That video currently draws the most daily views of any upload on the channel. The previous week's "Finding the Worlds Biggest 3-Wheeler" also remains active, keeping the giant-machine discovery in circulation.
Shred Eighty added 5,000 subscribers over the week, continuing its growth, although daily views are currently below their usual level. Nearby off-road channels Buttery Films and BleepinJeep are both seeing above-usual daily viewing. Carlson's own week has a particularly recognizable signature: find an improbable Honda, then work out what terrain it belongs on.
