Kai Cenat's promise to play through Grand Theft Auto has become a substantial viewing event: his GTA III upload drew more than 1.5 million views in its first eight hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for longer videos.

As we reported here, Cenat announced plans to tackle five GTA games in one sitting. The new upload, titled "🎮PLAYING EVERY GTA UNTIL I BEAT IT: Grand Theft Auto 3🎮", puts that completion challenge front and center. The title sets the goal; it doesn't establish that he's finished it.

Liberty City gives the marathon a very particular starting point. GTA III's missions send players through a fictional city modeled on New York, with criminal employers offering work and the police ready to complicate the journey. Compared with the sprawling games that followed, it's a more compact world, but completing it is still a different proposition from simply causing havoc for a stream.

On a channel whose most-watched full streams include visits from Kevin Hart and 21 Savage, this time the attraction is Cenat taking on an old game with a finish line.
