What makes a sealed Pokémon pack worth opening at that price? For HECZ, there is at least one assurance: the vendor promises his money back if there isn't a holographic card inside.
At the card-show table, the OpTic founder carefully opens the vintage Base Set pack and reveals an Alakazam. Then he buys another pack. That one produces a holographic Mewtwo.
The sequence comes late in "I Paid $5000+ for Pokemon Cards, This is what I got…", a collecting vlog that drew roughly 46,000 views in its first day, well above his usual start. His daughter's interest brought him into Pokémon, but collecting itself is familiar territory: shoes, graffiti magazines and sports cards were already part of his world.
This time, the OpTic facility doubles as an autograph stop. HECZ carries a binder of player cards around the office, gets Methodz's signature with an unhelpfully fading marker, and visits Scump to have cards signed for his personal collection. In the comments, viewers propose a dedicated OpTic pack-opening channel, while another offers a practical warning about binder rings denting cards.
There is also a collecting twist that doesn't require opening a pack. At FS/FT, HECZ signs a LeBron James card because he appears in the background crowd at a Hawks-Cavaliers game. Alongside his own Upper Deck Goodwin Champions cards, it gives him another way into the collection. As he puts it: "I'm in the hobby twice. Once here, and then my own Goodwin Champions cards."
