What does ESPN's youth sports channel post between recruiting clips and college highlights? A short titled "Straight free for all 😭", credited to TikTok creator thiskasai, and it has gone further than anything else on the feed.

It passed a quarter of a million views in its first fifteen hours. The channel's other recent uploads are its usual fare: Ohio State offensive line commit Jimmy Kalis billed as "a man amongst boys," Keelon Russell's Alabama against Kamario Taylor's Mississippi State, and CJ Carr's five touchdowns in Notre Dame's win over North Carolina. None of them came close.

The comment section moved about eight times faster than on a usual first day for the channel's Shorts, and nearly everyone reads the clip the same way: as gym class. The most liked comment points out that free play always arrived with about ten minutes left, right after the PACER test. Another fixes on a stray kickball among the basketballs and compares the shooting to Ray Allen's threes. Someone recalls the day class meant basketball on scooters. The image that keeps coming back, from several viewers in slightly different words, is moths flying to a flame, with chickens rushing at feed time a close second.

On a feed built around four- and five-star prospects, the clip people are talking about has no stars attached, just whoever got to a ball first.
