Kind Rescuers Save Deer Trapped In Flooded Pool

A ladder and a textured mat are waiting at the pool's edge, but the deer keeps swimming past. In "Kind Rescuers Save Deer Trapped In Flooded Pool," several men work from a stone ledge to help an animal that cannot find its own way out.

The home video, shared by clips channel Sassy, drew roughly 2.9 million views since yesterday. The channel places the rescue in Center Point, in the Texas Hill Country, where flooding had surrounded the pool.

Eventually, a looped rope lets the group guide the deer toward the mat. A man in black pulls it onto the poolside, then works the rope free from its neck and leg. "There you go, baby," he says.

Even then, the exit isn't straightforward. The deer gets up, runs and leaps into another flooded section. This one is shallow enough: it scrambles out and trots away across the lawn.
