Ranch dressing wins them over first. The British grandparents back on JOLLY, eleven of them this time, open "British Grandparents try Midwestern Comfort Food for the first time!" with a veggie tray and a dip that gets praise all round. The description says they are back after popular demand, and the menu Josh and Ollie have built for them runs from Minnesota to Michigan.
Some of it needs explaining. "Minnesota sushi" turns out to be pickles rolled in cream cheese and ham, and opinions split. Wisconsin's deep-fried cheese curds are an easy win. Then a whole baked meatloaf arrives, and Moff takes one look at its dark crust: "We couldn't bury him, we had to cremate him." The hosts go further and compare it to the Elephant's Foot at Chernobyl, a joke that returns later as a card in the quiz. The tater tot casserole served beside it becomes one of the day's clear favourites.
Michigan's Faygo Redpop is the drink that divides the table. Graham calls it "not undrinkable", then admits a few seconds later: "Yeah, I lied." There is a Midwestern celebrity quiz with Eminem, Steve Harvey, Travis Kelce and Insane Clown Posse, the Detroit duo famous for spraying Faygo over their crowds, and Carol's answer at one point is simply "Taylor Swift." Dessert brings puppy chow, which Moff refuses on name alone, root beer floats and homemade scotcheroos. The video also carries a paid advert for a data-removal service midway through.
The ending is the part viewers mention most. Asked for advice for younger people, each pair offers something; Graham's is "Tell your wife you love her every day." In its first 16 hours the video passed 880,000 views, and its comment section was already about twice as busy as a usual JOLLY first day, with meatloaf tips, questions about what Brits call a gherkin, and plenty of requests to bring this group back for a Thanksgiving table.
