The pull is easy to trace. The first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Studio Trigger's 2022 anime set in the world of CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, became one of Netflix's best-loved animated series and sent players back to the game. The second season arrives on Netflix in the US on October 20, with Clancy Brown, the voice of Mr. Krabs and the Kurgan of Highlander, listed in the cast beside Valeria Rodriguez and Kimoy Lee. The description gives the theme in one line: in a city hooked on braindance, the recorded memories people play back like films, someone goes looking for something real.

Many viewers spend the comments on the animation. One describes a character leaning recklessly over a railing to get a camera shot while another moves through the scene like an acrobat. Others compare how much chrome she carries to Ghost in the Shell and to Adam Smasher, the walking arsenal of the game. The most common joke is a dark one. Season one did not end kindly for its heroes, so viewers are already saying goodbye to the newcomers "in advance". A few simply want to know what the music is.

The rest of the channel's day was quieter. A Season 2 trailer for Hulu's All's Fair, starring Kim Kardashian, and a Netflix sneak peek of the sea-monster series Below both drew a few thousand views, and the channel as a whole is moving a little slower than usual. Night City was the exception.
