A weird-game hunt in a huge store, and viewers shout Ratatouille for PS3

A usual day on Retro Jakes brings in more than two million views, most of them from short clips of store aisles, flea market tables and consoles changing hands. This stretch ran a little calmer than that. There was just one new upload, and Jake simply called it a hunt for "another weird game."

The title keeps the game a secret, but the comments do not. Viewers name it as Ratatouille, the tie-in to Pixar's 2007 film, and the most liked joke is that it only counts as weird because he wanted the PlayStation 3 version instead of the far more common PS2 or PSP release. Others write about playing it home sick from school, about the Flushed Away and G-Force games of the same era, and about the Van Halen cover of "You Really Got Me" playing in the background. Many seem more taken with the size of the store than with the game.

The short has passed 1.6 million views, and a September clip of a buyer who "just kept buying consoles" is still moving close behind it. Among gaming channels near his size, none added more views this week, and the channel picked up about 20,000 new subscribers.
