Lane-assist gripes and five-year fans: owners split over ReDriven's used Haval H6

The same week, Matt from The Right Car joined a kei truck, a dual-cab ute and an American pickup in a size-off scored for Australian roads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What goes WRONG with a USED GWM Haval H6?What goes WRONG with a USED GWM Haval H6?

ReDriven built its week around a car that divides people. "What goes WRONG with a USED GWM Haval H6?" opens by admitting that owners either call it the best car they have had or want nothing more to do with it. The comment section shows exactly that split. Several owners write about safety systems they have to switch off on every drive and a dual-clutch gearbox they could live without, while others report years and well over 100,000 kilometers without trouble. Readers in South Africa, where the H6 is a common sight, joined in too. It became the most watched of five uploads, past 120,000 views.

The longest video of the week asked a bigger question: kei truck, dual-cab ute or full-size American pickup? With Matt from The Right Car helping, the three were scored on freeway driving, towing, parking and off-road work to see which size suits Australian life.

The newest upload, a car billed as beautiful but "a bit of a nightmare to own," is the one moving fastest right now. Daily views ran below the channel's usual this week, yet among the motoring channels near its size none gained more over seven days, and the gap was wide.

  • The base H6 model petrol 2024 has been a great car for me without any issues yet for 2 years. Love the car. The only downside are the safety features that can't be turned off permanently , but that seems to be for all brands.

  • Mine has done 124,000kms and nearly 5 yrs old. Drove to interstate and never missed a beat. Only issues are the annoying safety system and that DCT transmission
  • The Pros and Cons tally is a nice touch and will make it easier for the layman to get a general idea of the car and a basis to start they're research with.

Personally way to much unnecessary tech in this car for me and especially don't like the fact you don't have a proper gauge cluster in it.

While you say the boot is large you looked rather cramped in it Adam.

Great video guys and I look forward to Sunday's video as per usual 👍.

  • These things are everywhere here in South Africa, and truth be told, the value for money is insane. The main drawback they used to have was just how few dealerships and service centres there were, so there was a crazy backlog, and when the cars were serviced, they were serviced in a rush and thus, serviced very poorly. GWM has pretty much solved that issue over the past five years, so yeah. That being said, I can't stand how touch screen centric these cars are - well, these and pretty much all modern cars - so I've never really found myself gravitating towards one. And call me a fuddy duddy, …
