Stacking dimes at FSG Headquarters: The Kid picks up a welder
Aaron and Emily Reeves gave their still new-to-them shop a long-awaited cleanup, and the comments are full of welders cheering on their niece Alaia.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
SATISFYING clean up at FSG Headquarters!!!
"SATISFYING clean up at FSG Headquarters!!!" was the only new video on Flying Sparks Garage this week. It does what the title says. Aaron and Emily Reeves tidy up the shop they still call new-to-us, and the description sounds like two people glad to finally be making the place their own. Close to 140,000 people have watched it so far, most of them on the first day.
The viewers, though, keep talking about something else: Alaia, the niece the channel calls The Kid, running a welder. Several commenters praise her for "stacking dimes," welding slang for a neat, even bead that looks like a row of overlapping coins. A few say they are professional welders. One suggests cutting test welds in half to check for voids. Another, an instructor from Nashville, offers to visit and give lessons. There is also a running weed-killer debate, and one viewer says it is the first time they have seen landscaping done with a hair dryer.
Around the new upload, the trucks keep turning. A three-week-old field repair on the power divider of the couple's 1984 Peterbilt 359 has passed 300,000 views. Close behind is their attempt to drive a broken-down, CAT-powered 1078 LMTV 250 miles home.
The channel as a whole is running well below its usual pace, and subscribers held at 409,000. It has company: most cars and motoring channels near its size are slower than normal right now, from The Electric Viking to Hydra. STRAD is the one clearly running ahead. Among them, Flying Sparks Garage added some of the fewest views over the week. The ones it did get went to a cleaner shop and a new welder at the bench.

@boogieman7734See it on YouTubeTK is doing so well with welding. The front of the shop is looking great. Adding a old gas pump and old Gas station sign would finish it off.
