A dog that speaks up for its family leads Rako's 89,000-subscriber week
The animated Short neared 800,000 views in about 15 hours, while the snowman who fought off a lake monster is closing in on four million.
Why this story? The channel went from 283,000 to 372,000 subscribers this week.
In "His Dog SAVED The Whole Family By SPEAKING," the hero is a dog that finds its voice at exactly the right moment. That is a fair summary of the formula Rako has made its own. In these animated Shorts, the rescuer is rarely a person. In recent days it has been a snowman, a jack-in-the-box, a beluga and a little sister, and the newest titles all hinge on the same verb: SAVED.
The dog arrived fast. About 15 hours after going up, it had close to 800,000 views, several times what a Rako Short usually collects on its first day.
It also capped a week that brought 89,000 new subscribers and took the channel to 372,000. That is nearly a third more than seven days earlier, and it happened while daily views ran a little below the channel's recent pace.
The earlier rescues are still pulling viewers. The snowman who guarded a boy from a lake monster, posted two days ago, is nearing four million views. The jack-in-the-box that saved its owner "at the last second" has passed a million, and the beluga who saved her future trainer is past 800,000. Not every hero takes off. A gentler story about an eagle fitted with a printed beak is still in the tens of thousands.
Rako describes every story as dramatized. Some are inspired by real events, others are invented from scratch, and the team says it writes, animates, voices and edits each one itself. Its about page states the next goal plainly: a million subscribers.
