Crushed batteries and a burning load: Zver explains why garbage trucks catch fire

The Short's comment section has turned into a practical question session about where dead batteries are supposed to go.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 182,024 views a day, 5.8 times a normal first day on this channel (31,500).

Why Garbage Trucks Catch Fire🔥Why Garbage Trucks Catch Fire🔥

"Why Garbage Trucks Catch Fire🔥" starts with a habit most people never think twice about: dropping a dead battery into the household trash. In Zver's telling, the trouble begins later, inside the truck. When the load is compacted, crushed batteries short-circuit and set the paper and plastic around them alight. The description says drivers sometimes have to dump the burning trash onto the road to save the vehicle.

The Short passed 90,000 views within eight hours, well ahead of a usual first day for the channel's Shorts. The comments are moving faster still. In those eight hours they already reached nearly five times what a Zver Short typically collects over its whole first day, and most of them are practical. Several viewers ask where batteries are supposed to go instead. Others admit to years of tossing them in the bin as kids. One thread asks whether an ordinary AA can really do this, or whether lithium-ion is the real danger.

That last question runs through the channel's week. A day earlier, Zver posted a Short about robots at a BMW factory that, according to its description, were trained to walk into a furnace because their lithium batteries were too dangerous for ordinary recycling.

Fire also shows up elsewhere on the channel. "Mechanic Use Fire to Seat Tire," posted in late September, is climbing again and is now past 440,000 views. That one is about a quick ignition of flammable gas that snaps a stiff off-road tire onto its rim.
