Massive HISTORIC Siege of Alexandria, 619 AD | Eastern Rome Surrounded!
On a usual day Pixelated Apollo's channel draws around 70,000 views, and right now it runs a little below that, closer to 60,000. The subscriber count sits on a round million and did not move over the seven days.
The week's centerpiece was a siege. "Massive HISTORIC Siege of Alexandria, 619 AD" is a 4v4 Total War Attila battle inspired by the year the Sassanid Persians took the city from the Byzantines. Four players attacked for the Sassanids and four, Tharshey among them, defended for Eastern Rome, under house rules the description lays out: two artillery pieces for the whole attacking side, a cap on skirmishers, no limit on elephants. It is the most watched of the four uploads, near 38,000 views. One of the defenders turned up in the comments to admit his side had no fallback line planned, and paid for it in a messy retreat. Another longtime viewer noticed something new: Apollo's microphone cutting out when the explosives went off. A few people also ask about the long-promised most epic battle, the one they remember being saved for the million mark.
The newer uploads are the ones moving fastest. A Game of Thrones mod battle, Dothraki and Unsullied against the kings of Westeros, is gathering views more quickly than the siege, and part 12 of the Dawnless Days Rhun campaign, where Erebor finds dwarven allies, is not far behind. Part 11, from two days earlier, was the one where the dwarves marched into a trap.
Among strategy and simulation channels of similar size, Ken is having by far the biggest week. Apollo sits sixth of eight for views gained, just below PhlyDaily, who is also running under his usual pace.
