Forty-four players, two German squads: Klopp's experiment on Pêche Football
The short on Germany's double call-up passed a million views, and its comment section keeps bringing up the Springboks' famous bench.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Klopp’s Genius Strategy 🧠
Among the football clubs, leagues and media channels close to its size, only ITV Sport and Zedsnap added more views over the past seven days than Pêche Football. The channel gathered roughly four and a half million, and it ran well above its usual daily pace while doing it.
The week's big one was "Klopp’s Genius Strategy 🧠". The description lays out the idea: Jürgen Klopp, now in charge of Germany, called up 44 players and split them into two separate teams, one for the first two games of the international break and one for the next two. Some of them, the video says, never expected the call. It passed a million views in five days.
The comment section turned into a coaching seminar. Several viewers trace the idea to rugby, to Rassie Erasmus and the South Africa side that built its success on a second team as strong as the first. Others call it Germany's own Blue Lock, after the anime about an academy built to forge a striker. The most liked comment is simply happy that the managers who ruled club football in the 2010s now run national teams.
The other five uploads covered a lot of ground. Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Portugal camp, a 15-year-old Manchester United academy striker whom half of Europe's giants reportedly want, and Rui Pinto, the hacker behind Football Leaks. The most playful was "The Only Player Who Can Save Mourinho", which, despite its title, is about Anguilla's Aedan Scipio, a 36-year-old forward whose ankle-length dreadlocks cost two opponents red cards in twenty minutes. That one and the academy striker's video are now drawing viewers even faster than the Klopp short.
