A schooling in front of 6,000 kids: England's Rijeka reel passes three million

Roy Keane's verdict that Jude Bellingham could be the greatest became the week's second act, and a halfway-line strike against Crewe arrived late to join it.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the football clubs, leagues and media channels near its size, ITV Sport gathered more views than any of them over the past seven days, roughly ten and a half million. Most of that group ran below their usual pace. The French channel Pêche Football was the other one having a lively week.

The reason is not hard to find. Croatia v England, the Nations League night in Rijeka, has passed three million views on its highlights reel. Viewers keep coming back to one detail: thousands of schoolchildren in the stands. The commentator's line about Croatia getting a schooling in front of them is the most liked thing in the comments, and plenty of people write about the boos from the young crowd. Others are busy with Anthony Gordon's speed and with the chances England missed, which some think should have made the score even bigger.

The pundits stretched the night out. Roy Keane's analysis, in which he says Jude Bellingham "could be the greatest," is the channel's second-busiest video. A shorter clip of the same praise and the post-match words from Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Thomas Tuchel added more. Fifteen uploads in all went up, and the week opened somewhere else entirely, with Keane and Ian Wright on Manchester City breaking the Premier League's financial rules, followed by Wright looking ahead to City against Liverpool on October 11.

The newest arrival is the one to watch. Bobby Kamwa's strike from the halfway line, a consolation goal against Crewe, is already pulling views almost as quickly as Keane on Bellingham.
