One word, 'Expulsion.', and a Manchester United channel's week on City

Fifteen uploads went out, almost all of them about Manchester City's troubles, and the newest passed 100,000 views in its first sixteen hours.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Expulsion.Expulsion.

What does a Manchester United fan channel talk about when United are not the story? Manchester City, it turns out, from almost every angle. UnitedPeoplesTV put out fifteen uploads in seven days, and nearly every title in its busiest batch points across town: City and "£900 million," City's "greatest ever moment" questioned, "We're Witnessing The End of Manchester City," and Pep Guardiola's international break going from bad to worse.

The newest is the bluntest. Titled with a single word, "Expulsion.", it went up on Monday and was already past 100,000 views sixteen hours later, faster than anything else on the channel. Its tags lean on relegation and Football Leaks. A live show hosted by Sam followed close behind, mixing "more fallout for City" with a bit of good news on the United side about Carlos Baleba.

The week's most watched upload asked why Louis van Gaal is being told to sue City. The former United manager's name sent viewers into some creative math on points deductions, comparisons with Everton's punishment and a long debate over how different the club might look had he stayed. One commenter pictured him walking into court like a wrestler making his entrance.

The channel as a whole ran a little below its usual daily pace, with about 2.5 million views over the week and a modest 1,000 new subscribers. Among the football channels near its size it sat in the middle. ITV Sport and Zedsnap had the big weeks, while The Rest Is Football and Sky Sports Retro were quieter than usual.
