Cliff Booth has an unflattering explanation for why he stopped being Rick Dalton's stunt double: "Rick got too fat for me to double him anymore." Hollywood has other work for him, though not all of it belongs on a film set.

Netflix's second trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth finds Brad Pitt's sometime stuntman working a theater's projection booth and concession counter in 1977 Los Angeles. Then a message arrives: actor Charlie Peters wants a meeting. What interests him isn't simply Cliff's ability to take a fall, but his experience with real violence.

Briefcases of cash, gangsters and dangerous favors follow. Cliff also pitches a suspiciously familiar movie idea: a star gets into trouble with gangsters, and his stunt double saves him. The man who once worked behind Rick Dalton is getting a story of his own.

Pitt returns to the character he played in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, but the directing chair has changed hands. Tarantino wrote this script; David Fincher directs. That combination dominates the comments, with viewers spelling out the three names together and one requesting a home-release commentary featuring both filmmakers. Others are discussing the trailer's brighter image compared with the first preview.

The upload reached about 2.5 million views in 15 hours, far above Netflix's usual start for videos this length. Its comment section has already drawn far more responses than a typical full first day, too.

Despite the Netflix name on the trailer, the advertised destination is a cinema: the film opens exclusively in IMAX on November 25.
