Video taking off 25x its usual first day

A taken lunch table, and a Dairy Queen mystery, on MaxPreps

A cafeteria clip with the caption "Like who told y'all to sit there?" pulled far ahead of the channel's football Shorts, and its comments keep asking where the Blizzards came from.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 761,934 views a day, 25 times a normal first day on this channel (30,144).

Like who told y’all to sit there? 🤣 #shortsLike who told y’all to sit there? 🤣 #shorts

Whose table is it, anyway? MaxPreps put that question in its caption, "Like who told y'all to sit there?", and attached it to a short lunchtime clip credited to @pasquale. It passed about 790,000 views in its first day. A MaxPreps Short usually starts closer to 30,000.

That is a long way from what the channel is built on. Its about line calls it "America's Source for High School Sports since 2002," and the same two days brought Shorts on North Crowley's Quentin Gibson and Chris Jimmerson Jr. ahead of the Texas school's Friday game against unbeaten Waxahachie. There was also a podcast episode with Santa Margarita head coach Carson Palmer, the former USC quarterback. The football posts sit in the hundreds and low thousands. Another school-life Short, about a teacher who punishes the wrong students, went further, but nowhere near the cafeteria.

The comments came in about four times faster than on a usual first day, and they keep circling two things. The first is the seat. Viewers say the same thing happened to them that very day, or that it stings more when your own friends sit down with the newcomers. One remembers that at their school it rarely happened at all, because everyone knew better than to take someone's spot.

The second is dessert. Many ask what kind of school hands out Dairy Queen Blizzards at lunch, and one viewer explains that their school simply has a DQ across the street.

The channel built on touchdowns and rankings found its biggest crowd of these two days at a lunch table.

  • What school are you going to if they're giving you blizzards 😭
  • I remember that happening rarely, because it’s like everyone knew better than to just pick someone else’s spot. But also it triggers the response to rush over to the table you want to secure it.
