Fifteen hours online, and the newest upload on ESPN Throwback is already the channel's busiest. "When Khabib claimed victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 229" goes back to October 2018 in Las Vegas, the night Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor in the fourth round to keep his lightweight title. The clip is credited to the UFC, and it passed 10,000 views faster than anything else the channel posted. In the comments, one viewer argues that Khabib's relentless takedown attempts simply drained McGregor's energy.
The rest of the week leaned on anniversaries. Peter Schrager's Big Day marked twenty years since the "Domecoming" game, and in another episode Ian Rapoport and Jeff Saturday joined him to revisit Michael Jordan's first retirement in 1993, alongside Schrager's top five surprise retirements. There was also Lee Corso's first headgear pick on College GameDay, from 1996, the ritual that became the show's signature. Case Keenum's 2010 ACL tear at Houston opened the week more quietly.
The channel is running below its usual daily pace, and subscribers held at 427,000. Around it, most of the American sports channels near its size are quieter than normal too, while NFL Network and The Joel Klatt Show are a little ahead of their usual. Fuzzy gathered by far the most views over the week.
