A stone that won't skip and a baseball game on the telly: Japanorama Ep 6

Sam Denby and Ben Doyle face Tom Scott and Adam Chase in the sixth leg of a race down the whole of Japan, with the last two episodes cut into a finale for cinemas.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Four days old and close to 860,000 views, episode six of "We Raced The Entire Length Of Japan" is the one new upload on Jet Lag: The Game, and it started fast, with nearly 590,000 views on its first day. The channel, billed as a Wendover Productions show where the world is the board, has Sam Denby and Ben Doyle on one team and Tom Scott and Adam Chase on the other for this season, Japanorama.

The comments read like a highlight reel of small moments. One challenge made the players stay and actually watch a baseball game, and viewers keep bringing up the cut from a little TV in a souvenir shop to the team standing in that same crowd. An adult man trying, and failing, to skip a stone gets a surprising amount of attention, as does a scramble for seats on a rural charter bus. An attempt to steal a challenge ended with the team leaving from a ghost station, which turned out to be a challenge of its own. Others note that Adam has drawn some lovely places to wait, and one viewer gently corrects Ben on which Pokémon is which.

The pinned comment explains why the season feels close to its end: episodes seven and eight have been cut together into a finale shown in theaters across the US, the UK and Canada on October 3.

The earlier episodes keep moving too, the fifth and the season opener each still drawing close to 10,000 views a day. The channel ran a little below its usual daily pace, yet its roughly two million views over seven days were the most among the travel channels nearest its size, ahead of Jeb Brooks and Walk With Me Tim.
