Mangroves, surf breaks and captain Juan Fischer: Expedia's Panamá by boat
The only new upload was a short from Taxco, the Mexican hill town built on silver, while a twelve-day-old film from The Professionals series kept drawing a crowd.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Discover Panamá by boat with captain Juan Fischer | The Professionals
Expedia posted once in seven days, and it went to Mexico. The short visits Taxco, in Guerrero, which the description bills as the Silver Capital of the World, and watches artisans work raw silver into jewelry by hand. It has had a gentle start so far, a couple of thousand views.
The video with real momentum is older. "Discover Panamá by boat with captain Juan Fischer," part of the brand's The Professionals series, follows a local captain through surf breaks, mangrove passages and island hideaways, to the spots he says he knows best. Twelve days in, it is close to 80,000 views and still adding them far faster than anything else on the recent shelf. A Jamaica food diary from the same day, jerk at Scotchies and a curry goat patty at Devon House included, is moving at a much calmer pace.
The channel as a whole drew more than twice its usual daily views, and it is not clear which corner of a very large back catalog is doing that. Among similar-sized travel channels, TayBrice is having a comparably busy stretch and Jet Lag: The Game is running above its norm, while Jeb Brooks and Walk With Me Tim are quieter than usual. Expedia sits third by subscribers in that group, at about 1.2 million.
