A lavender living room in a 1908 Baltimore Georgian, for Lisa Sokol

The designer used to walk past the house as a child and wonder about life inside, and years later it became her blended family's home.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Who gets to live in the house they admired as a kid? Lisa Sokol did. The Baltimore interior designer, the description says, used to walk past a 1908 Georgian and imagine the rooms inside. Decades later she and her husband found themselves at that same door, and it became home for their blended family.

It is a maximalist house now: a lavender lacquered living room, a deep teal library, a sunroom built for family life and an office piled with design samples. Much of the art came down from her parents and from her grandfather, who was an artist himself. Posted on Monday, it is the channel's quickest new tour, though the Santa Barbara visit with Susan and Ryan Shand, which went up a day earlier, still has the larger total.

The Shand comments are worth a look. Viewers single out the Scrabble-tile messages, a remarkably handsome ping pong table and Ryan's joke about being introduced as "business partner", and a few of them are already asking to see her house next.

The rest of the run of 15 uploads travels widely: a five-home roundup of traditional houses from Beacon Hill to Raleigh, a return to Cathy Kincaid's Dallas home and Windsor Dalton's small New York place. Daily views sit below the channel's usual pace, but the week still brought about 4,000 new subscribers and close to 3.7 million views. Among the home and DIY channels nearest in size, only eFIXX gathered more.
