A 3.8mm inspection camera, and a PVC tip that won't stop working

The pen-style otoscope was electronicsNmore's only new upload, while a year-old plumbing warning has passed 190,000 views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Steady, and slightly busier. electronicsNmore put out one video, yet the channel ran a little above its usual daily pace, and most of that lift came from older work.

The new one is "Incredible Value! 3.8mm HD Inspection Camera Otoscope: LOW PRICED," a look at a pen-shaped camera with a head under four millimeters wide that records photos and video to an SD card. It drew about 4,000 views, modest by this channel's standards, and the comment section turned into a small workshop. One viewer credits a flexible-tip endoscope with saving his aging eyes, another wishes the gadget used the phone already in his pocket, and a few argue that the chunky pen body limits how deep it can reach, pointing to thinner borescopes with moving heads. Someone else is simply pleased the two of them are bringing back the word "nifty."

The real workhorse is a plumbing video from last fall, "PVC BEST TIP ~ Never Do This Connection! Few Know About It," a fitting method the description says has held up for over three decades. It is still gathering more views a day than anything else here, ahead of a drill bit test that pits Harbor Freight, Milwaukee, Dewalt and Drill America against a half-inch AR500 target, and a six-week-old tip for keeping AA alkaline batteries from leaking into remotes and clocks.

Among DIY and home channels of a similar size, Beamish DIY had the giant week, while most of the group ran below its usual pace. electronicsNmore was one of the few running above it, about a thousand new subscribers richer.
