Shrimp ceviche and a blue-collar drink carry Hispanixs past 150,000 subscribers
The Mexican-American comedy channel added another 20,000 subscribers in seven days, while a party Short from the weekend kept climbing.
Why this story? The channel went from 131,000 to 151,000 subscribers this week.
"Mexican Ceviche 🇲🇽🦐" is one of the newest Shorts on Hispanixs, a comedy channel whose titles keep two flags in play, the American and the Mexican. The shrimp emoji tells you what is in the bowl. It went up on October 5, the same day as "🇺🇸 finding out what 🇲🇽 blue collar drinks at work," and between them they show what the channel does best: small everyday scenes from a Mexican life, framed for anyone on the American side of the joke.
The channel has now passed 151,000 subscribers. It gained about 20,000 of them in a single week, and it was still adding around 3,000 a day as the week closed.
The weekend's big Short is still doing much of the work. "Mexican Parties 🇲🇽🎉" went past a million views earlier in the week and has kept going since, well past 1.3 million. Next in line is "is Corona time 🍺", posted on October 2, which is past half a million.
The daily views have cooled from the channel's usual pace, yet the subscribers keep arriving. Maybe people who found the party Short stayed to see what else was on the menu?
The calendar may give the channel more to work with. Its "Quick Question" Short on Day of the Dead ofrendas, posted on October 2, is a quieter one so far, but the holiday it asks about is only weeks away.
