Heartwarming Rescue: He Risked Everything to Save a Life 😱
Two rescues, one old bird. Mark Harrison's channel, built on what its about page calls a daily dose of uplifting news, added a dog and a firefighter to its shelf this week, but the clip that has done the most over the long run is a seagull.
"Heartwarming Rescue: He Risked Everything to Save a Life 😱" went up in early July. In it, a gull dangles from a streetlight by one wing, and a man climbs up to free it. The description suggests that the climb down might be the scarier part. Ninety-six days on, it is nearing eight million views and still picks up a few hundred more each day.
Of the new pair, the firefighter short moved quickest. "Firefighter’s Insane 11th Floor Rescue 😱🔥 #viralshorts" shows a woman trapped high above the street with fire behind her and a firefighter waiting below, and it ends on the moment she has to let go. Earlier in the week, "He Wasn’t Ready for This Dog Rescue" followed an owner trying to pull his dog out of deep mud without sinking himself. Its small comment section is less about the rescue than about the dog, which keeps surfacing from the mud with a strangely clean face, and about the person holding the camera instead of helping.
Overall it was a slower stretch than usual, with daily views a little under their normal level and the subscriber count slipping by about a thousand. The clips and compilations neighborhood around it was much louder: Dash Crash Cam and Team Maguire each added more than twelve million views, and Zhong Clips gained tens of thousands of subscribers. Mark Harrison's corner stays the gentler one, with a gull, a muddy dog and a jump from the eleventh floor.
