A farm tractor, a Mercedes and a brake check that backfired for Dash Crash Cam

Three of the fifteen new clips are brake checks gone wrong, and the newest drew the biggest daily crowd of the week's uploads.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the clips and compilations channels near its size, Dash Crash Cam added the second-most views over the seven days, a little over 13 million, behind only MrBrushHour. The channel is running at about twice its usual daily pace, while several neighbors, MrBrushHour and Zhong Clips among them, are drawing fewer views than they normally do.

The formula is plain and the titles do not hide it: submitted dash cam footage, edited by the channel's team, nearly always ending in what the descriptions call instant karma. Fifteen went up this week, and brake checks were the running theme. Two of them feature semi trucks, which is a bold choice of target. The third, "Brake Checking In A Mercedes Goes Wrong!", is the oddest. Its description says the Mercedes driver tried the move on a slow farm tractor. That one is the busiest of the week's top uploads right now.

The most watched, though, is the first: "Brake Check On Semi Truck Goes Wrong!", which is closing in on a million views. Its description says the trucker simply mentioned the front-facing camera. The comment section treats the stunt as an attempted insurance scam, and a fair number of viewers say they would have stayed quiet about the camera until the police arrived. Others joke that they were hoping for a longer ride for the pickup, and one points out how far a fully loaded big rig needs to stop.

The freshest clips are moving fastest of all. A one-day-old trucker road rage video, in which the aggressor slides off the road, is drawing more views per day than anything else on the channel.
