Just Fontaine, not Mbappé: a World Cup nation quiz gets corrected in the comments

Brazil, France and Spain went head to head in a short of World Cup trivia that passed two million views, while a Messi FC27 card and a Ghanaian-at-Bayern question followed it up.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

GOAL's Front Three is a channel built on football quizzes and loud opinions, and its biggest short of the week was both. "The BEST FOOTBALLING NATION EVER *QUIZ" lines up World Cup records and asks which country each one belongs to. Going by the comments, Ali, Jules and Juwon each took a side, Brazil among them, and one player kept piling up points.

The replies are mostly running a fact check. A lot of viewers stop on the record for most goals at a single World Cup, which went to Mbappé in the short. They point out that it belongs to Just Fontaine, still the holder with his 1958 tally for France. Others have an argument about the assists record, and plenty are simply puzzled that the three handed each other so many easy points.

The short is a week old and is still drawing more views each day than anything newer. Close behind it is "NAME A GHANAIAN THAT'S PLAYED FOR BAYERN," an easy-to-hard challenge that went up on Friday. It started faster than the nation quiz did and has kept moving. The Messi video asked whether he deserves the top card in FC27, and it had the best first day of the lot, a sign that the GOAT question still sells.

There were 15 uploads in all. The channel added about 15,000 subscribers and ran a little above its usual daily pace. Among the football clubs, leagues and media channels of a similar size, no one gained more views this week, with Fooftly the other channel running well above normal. Club channels such as Aston Villa's had a far calmer time of it.
