Start, bench or sell: Front Three's Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappé question splits the replies

The short's views are about normal for the football panel, but its comment section is far busier, and most of it is people defending their picks with reasons.

Why this story? The video drew 502 comments in its first day, 5.8 times a normal first day on this channel (87).

START, BENCH, SELL: RONALDO, MESSI, MBAPPE 🤔 #football #soccer #shortsSTART, BENCH, SELL: RONALDO, MESSI, MBAPPE 🤔 #football #soccer #shorts

Pick one to start, one for the bench and one to sell: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Kylian Mbappé. That is the whole of GOAL's Front Three's newest short, and the description simply asks viewers to give their own answer below.

They did. In its first day the short drew close to six times the comments a Front Three short usually gets, while its views stayed about where the channel's shorts normally land. It passed 600,000 views in its first day and a half.

The most popular answer reads almost like a group decision: start Mbappé, keep Messi as a super sub, sell Ronaldo. One of the most liked versions comes from a commenter who says he is a Ronaldo fan. Not everyone agrees. A long thread argues that Messi, at 39, still does more pressing and defending than Mbappé, and several viewers note that Ronaldo's camp has little room to argue this time. Others point out who was missing from the panel, and one of the regulars, Juwon, gets credit for his ball knowledge.

The question format is a habit on this channel, which bills itself on quizzes and unpopular opinions. A Messi-and-Garnacho short went up the same day, and a quiz about Ghanaian players at Bayern Munich, posted the day after, has already drawn more views than the start-bench-sell debate.
