Una pareja de Texas y sus hijos pequeños, entre las 9 víctimas de un accidente aéreo | FOX 7 Español

A Texas family was among those killed when a flight from Austin to the Bahamas crashed in a Palm Beach County neighborhood, FOX 7 Austin reports. The station's Spanish-language update brings the local connection into focus as federal investigators continue their work.

Presenter Amanda Salinas reports that nine people died. She says the pilots had reported ice, rain and turbulence shortly before impact. Those reports do not establish what caused the crash.

The update also describes the disruption around the site: authorities evacuated residents of a nearby community to allow investigators to work. No injuries were reported on the ground. An official speaking to reporters says information will be released to the public once it has been assembled.

The FOX 7 Español Short reached nearly 90,000 views in seven hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for Shorts. A separate English-language update about the flight and those aboard also drew an unusually large audience for the station.
