Don't put your luggage on the bed, experts say

A suitcase on a clean hotel bed gives FOX 32 Chicago's anchors plenty to discuss, and a slightly unappetizing breakfast topic. As the channel passes 500 million lifetime views, its most-watched new upload is a practical travel segment rather than a breaking-news bulletin.

"Don't put your luggage on the bed, experts say" has drawn about 5,400 views. The Good Day Chicago segment explains how wheels pick up grime from floors and how bedbugs can travel in bags. The advice is straightforward: wipe down the wheels after a trip and unpack using the luggage rack. A co-anchor supplies the everyday comparison: most people wouldn't put dirty shoes on their bed.

Viewers pick up that same shoes-in-the-house analogy, while others point to the folding racks already waiting in hotel closets. The studio conversation takes its own detour into purses placed on floors, mixing hygiene with a mention of bad-luck superstition.

The station posted fifteen videos over the week, including Bears Blitz's matchup preview, full Good Day Chicago broadcasts and Trump's Kennedy Space Center remarks. The luggage segment also has the strongest daily momentum among the channel's uploads, followed by ChicagoLIVE's report on changes to Illinois' hemp industry and Bears Blitz.

Across the channel, daily views are more than double their usual level, and subscribers increased modestly over the week. Nearby in size, FOX 2 Detroit also has an elevated daily audience, while KPIX is close to its usual pace. For FOX 32 Chicago, this week's smaller, service-minded segment supplies a memorable detail: the suitcase wheels deserve attention before the unpacking starts.
