Value for money in a Bentley? Sam Jenkins' Torcal first look fills evo's week off
The magazine's channel posted nothing new, and a 13-day-old look at the car the description calls Bentley's quickest and most powerful has passed 240,000 views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Why this new Bentley is excellent value for money
evo put nothing new on its channel this week, so the performance car bible ran on September's work. The busiest of it is Sam Jenkins' first look at the Bentley Torcal, which the description bills as the quickest and most powerful model in the marque's history. The title makes a bolder claim: that it might also be the best value. It is not a phrase that usually sits near the word Bentley.
Just behind it is Yousuf Ashraf's evo Leaderboard test at Anglesey, where the new Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 meets the Honda Civic Type R. The description notes that the Golf holds the front-wheel-drive production lap record at the Nürburgring, with the Civic a few tenths away. Same day, same driver, one stopwatch, and the video has now passed 300,000 views.
Without a new upload, the channel drew about half its usual daily views, and its 656,000 subscribers held steady. Among the car channels near its size, only Dylan McCool added fewer views. Pushing Pistons had the big week, with close to seven million.
Further down the list, Sam's group test of four old V8 saloons is still finding readers. In it, the Lexus IS F, Audi RS4, BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 face off, and he settles whether he spent his own money on the right one.
