STRAD flies 6,000 miles for "the Rarest Lamborghini in the World"
Two days after James posted his long-haul car hunt, his channel is pulling more views in a day than it usually does in months.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 188,918 views a day, 184 times a normal day (1,026).
A new Lamborghini video landed. On October 4, James, the man behind STRAD, posted "Flying 6,000 Miles to Find the Rarest Lamborghini in the World!", and the channel has been running at well over a hundred times its usual daily pace ever since. The trip video is the obvious place to look: in two days it has passed 300,000 views, which already puts it close to the channel's best-known recent uploads.
The title keeps the car itself a secret, and the rarity claim is James's own billing. What it does tell you is the scale of the errand. This is a channel where a Lamborghini is less a poster on the wall than a project. Back in April, James posted "Ripping Apart my Lamborghini Temerario.", taking a knife to one of the brand's newest models. A week earlier he had gone racing at the invitation of Cleetus McFarland, whose Freedom 500 he described as the biggest race he had entered.
The channel does not run on cars alone. Its about text is three short lines: his name is James, he has a puppy called Oskar, and this is his life. That life, on camera, also includes a late-summer update that his 401k retirement plan had tripled, and the video that still leads his recent run, "Meet the Widowmaker."
The new upload also broke a pause of about six weeks, the longest stretch without a video in his recent lineup. Most car channels of a similar size are running below their usual pace, which makes this one easier to spot.
